During the last three years of my mother's life, she was in the Cameron Glen Care Center in Reston. Every Fast Sunday, Greg would take a deacon or two over to the care center to bring my mother the sacrament. My mother never remembered Greg's name. Instead, she just called him "that handsome man," as in "Oh, that handsome man brought the deacons over with the sacrament." She was very taken with Greg. I don't think this was an assignment that Greg had to do. I think it was one he chose to do and I will be forever grateful to him for being that lifeline to the church for her. He was truly an extraordinary man.
